"It's Old"

Finally, after a week in Portugal, Mimi received the pretty weather she had prayed so hard for.

And we headed to Porto.

We strolled along the streets of the Rio Douro and decided to take a little boat ride as well.

There were people there from all walks of life. I heard several different languages spoken and if your a people watcher like I am, It was an entertaining afternoon!

The boat took us under 6 different major bridges.

Not much of a church yard for this church!

Click to enlarge this picture and notice the stairs going up the mountain! Talk about a workout!!

Silly girls

I was so impressed with everything we saw. It sure does a missionary's heart good to see the beauty in the country God has placed them. When I asked my Mom what she thought...after a while she responded, "It's Old...one building here is older than America."

Bless her heart. Old isn't always good I guess. It's a good thing God didn't call her here!!

Hope you enjoy the pictures. Sorry I was gone for a while, my computer messed up on me. But now all is well, and I have lots of pictures to show you.

I LOVED the pictures of your city!! It does look old, but to me it looks "antique" in a good way. There must be so much history there and even for me (not being a history buff) it looks interesting.
Have a good weekend!

Beautiful pictures. And it is great to see beauty in the land to which God has called you. That's just one of the blessings He sometimes gives when we're serving Him.

Glad you're back and your computer's fixed! Hope to see more pictures soon.

What a great thing that we are called to some history enriched areas and that we can enjoy the "old" with the new. Praise the Lord we can love it! That´s for sure!

Love all the pictures. I noticed Brooklyn looking on all cool in the one with Mimi and (I think) Liberty. ;)

Love Trin´s look with the glasses and then too with the blue hat!

You and Justice look so cool too sportin your caps!

Don´t you just love boat rides? I grew up on a boat. (almost) jeje What gorgeous pictures!

Love your neighbor,

I think you must have miss understood my comment of "its old".
Any one who knows me knows I love old! I love the history that goes with "old". Some of those churches had to be more than 2 hundred yrs old.
Remember when you told me "dont look now, but look at that old woman in there eating"? .. I would say she has a lot of history she could share.

Porto has narrow alleyways, winding lanes, steep stairs going up the side of the mountain, quaint sidewalk cafes, strange people spray painted gold!

Old traditions live on in Porto.
Believe me I appreciate this beautiful, old, packed with history ...city of Porto Portugal!

I love you!!! Mom

What a beautiful place. Man, I can't imagine climbing all those stairs, but I'd give it a try if I were there.
