Where Do I Start?!

Wow...I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. Life has been so busy lately.

There has been celebration, after celebration lately....a lot of cooking and fellowshiping and church services to attend. But I praise the Lord for "work"....that means He is blessing!

Here are a few pictures from a Bar-B-Que we hosted last week with some friends and co-laborers.

Here I am putting the finishing touches on the black beans and mac & cheese.

Justice learning to play soccer with the men.

About to pray and eat!

Some of us ladies enjoying a little sun.

The "cook"!

The girls learning how to play 4 square.

Singing under the tent.

Playing Phase 10.

Stealing chips.

Choking the dog.

We are so blessed to have friends and co-laborers to fellowship with. We had a very nice day filled with American, Brazilian and German foods.

Yesterday we had all the girls teachers over for lunch. They weren't too sure about the pasta that I made, but the lemon pie was a hit! Friday is the last day of school so we wanted to have all the teachers here to say "thank you" for a fantastic school year. These ladies have helped our children so much over the last two years and we are very grateful for them. I pray they see the love of Christ in us.

Yesterday was my anniversary. 13 years! Michael and I are slipping away for two nights next week. Going to the mountains! I'll post pictures when we return.

See ya!

Love the new look! Loved reading about your fellowship. We always had such a great time with the other missionaries in the Azores. Barbecues were always the "thing" and I have lovely memories.

Congratulations on your anniversary! Enjoy your time!

Such a filling life, I'm so thrilled for you! May your blessings continue to be rich.

I'm sure you've covered this before, but I'm wondering now: Do the local people speak English with you, or does your family speak Portuguese with them?

Janna,
Thanks for your comment!
To answer your question, we speak Portuguese with them. There is the occasional person that speaks English well and will want to "practice on us"...but for the most part, there are very few English speakers around us. The school my children attend is all in Portuguese and our church services are in Portuguese as well.---It's sink or swim around here! ---Thanks for asking!

Hey, I don't think I have ever commented on your blog before, but I really love it! I added your family to my prayer list, and pray for you every day. Anywho, I hope you guys have a great anniversary! Congratulations!!!

Nice celebration.

All Portugal must be glued to their TV sets watching FIFA world cup.

The Portugal team has a great following in India. I like Cristiano Ronaldo.

By the way, if you are ever in Rochester, MN, on deputation or something, you should stop by our church. Our pastor is Joe Grimaldi, and our church is Midwest Bible Baptist Church.
